Blumhouse Unleashes Terrifying Live Experiences at Halloween Horror Nights
Universal Studios Hollywood is set to plunge thrill-seekers into a realm of bone-chilling fear this Halloween season as it partners with acclaimed horror production company Blumhouse to introduce two new live entertainment experiences. "The Purge: Dangerous Waters" and "Blumhouse: Behind the Screams" promise to bring the heart-pounding suspense and terror of Blumhouse's blockbuster films to life, alongside a plethora of other terrifying attractions. Halloween Horror Nights kicks off on Thursday, September 7, offering guests an unforgettable journey through the realm of horror.
For fans of "The Purge" franchise, this year's event brings a unique twist. "The Purge: Dangerous Waters" dares to venture into uncharted territory – the open waters. In a heart-stopping live show, a politician and his entourage seek refuge on an island to escape the annual Purge. However, their sanctuary is short-lived as the island is overrun by Purgers, igniting a deadly hunt. Hosted in the WaterWorld venue, this immersive experience features adrenaline-fueled action sequences, mesmerizing lighting and laser effects, daring stunts, high fall fire burns, and jaw-dropping explosions. Brace yourself for "The Purge: Dangerous Waters," a thrilling celebration of chaos and anarchy without consequence.
Not stopping there, Blumhouse continues to redefine fear with "Blumhouse: Behind the Screams." This original concept takes guests behind the scenes of some of the most iconic Blumhouse horror films. Get up close and personal with authentic film props, costume displays, and eerie character encounters that blur the line between reality and the silver screen. Among the showcased films are the highly anticipated "Five Nights at Freddy's" and "The Exorcist: Believer," along with beloved hits like "M3GAN" and "The Black Phone." This immersive experience invites you to traverse the fourth wall and delve into the sinister worlds that haunt your nightmares.
The terror extends beyond these spine-tingling experiences with three new scare zones designed to torment and terrify as you navigate through the event:
"El Terror de las Momias" extends the horror of the "Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America" haunted house. Guests will attempt a desperate escape from an army of ancient, resurrected mummies.
"Toyz" on New York Street beckons brave souls to confront an eerie toy box of horrors, where malevolent magic brings evil toys to life.
A chilling welcome awaits at the entrance in the form of "Ghostz," a horde of chainsaw-wielding ghosts soaked in blood.
Adding to the screams, the event features a lineup of eight haunted houses and the iconic Terror Tram experience:
"The Last of Us" plunges attendees into the post-pandemic world of the award-winning video game collaboration between Naughty Dog and Playstation.
"Stranger Things 4" transports visitors to Hawkins, Indiana, where they face off against the evil Vecna in the fourth season of the Netflix original series.
"The Exorcist: Believer" unveils a new, terrifying chapter as Chris MacNeil battles a nefarious demonic force possessing two girls.
"Universal Monsters: Unmasked" unites horror icons like The Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame in a chilling narrative.
"Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count" celebrates the slasher doll's most notorious kills across the series and films.
"Evil Dead Rise" immerses guests in a new twisted tale based on the 2023 box office hit within the Evil Dead franchise.
"Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America" brings to life the most terrifying ghosts and creatures from Latin American folklore.
"Holidayz in Hell" subjects visitors to a petrifying journey through psychotic seasonal celebrations.
The chilling thrills are rounded out by "Terror Tram…The Exterminatorz," which places attendees in the midst of an insect uprising led by the devious Larry Larva, set against the backdrop of the world-famous Universal backlot. This year's edition also features an epic crossover, as horror enthusiasts encounter The Tethered from Jordan Peele's "Us" and explore the Jupiter’s Claim set from "Nope."
Universal Studios Hollywood offers a range of Halloween Horror Nights ticket options, including General Admission, Universal Express, After 2 P.M. Day/Night, and the premium R.I.P. Tour.
