Knott’s Berry Farm announced on Thursday that they have started construction on a new Interactive 4-D dark ride named Voyage to the Iron Reef, which is aimed to open in spring 2015. Voyage to the Iron Reef, has guests up to four people enter a submarine to fight the Kraken with freeze ray guns and save Knott’s Berry Farm before the Kraken eats steel coasters. By using 3-D projections and surround sound, guests will fight the Kraken sea creature army and in the final scene guests will fight the Kraken it's self.

           The location of the new ride will be the original site of Knott's Bear-y Tales, and then was later transformed into the infamous Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. "The same commitment to storytelling and dedication to incorporating the most cutting edge ride technologies that made Knott's Bear-y Tales and Kingdom of the Dinosaurs so popular is what has driven the Iron Reef creative process," says Raffi Kaprelyan, vice president and general manager of Knott's Berry Farm.
